Newsletter / Mailing List

CHF periodically sends out information on upcoming courses, workshops and events. If you have attended a course, workshop or event in the past then it is assumed you have given consent to receive this information. You can opt out at any time by contacting us, and your details will be deleted from the mailing list.

CHF may alter this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should visit this page regularly to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This statement is effective from May 2018 following changes to Data Protection Laws and was updated in February 2020.

The information we collect and how we use it

We may collect your name and contact information such as email address or postal address when you contact us via the electronic contact form on our website or when you subscribe to our newsletters and updates. We require this information to understand your needs and respond appropriately to your enquiry.

We do not store the personal information provided once we have responded to your request, unless you become a client or make a booking to attend a workshop or event. If you have subscribed via our website then you agree to be kept informed about new services or future courses, workshops and events. You are free to unsubscribe from this service at any time.

If you are aged 16 years or younger, please obtain parental / guardian permission before providing your details in our contact form or by email.

How data is stored

All client records, including workshop booking forms, are handwritten and locked in a filing cabinet in a locked building and every effort is made to keep this information secure.

How we protect your information

We do not provide any personal information to third parties outside the CHF or use this information for any purpose other than those listed above except as in accordance with any agreement we have with you or as required by law.

We respect your right to privacy and will ensure that all personal information supplied is held securely, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018.

Rights of Access and Updating your details

You have the right to access personal information which we hold about you, under the Data Protection Act 1998 and under the GDPR 2018. There is no charge for this. Please contact us through the website contact form if you would like a copy of any information held about you. We aim to respond to your request within 30 days, and if for any reason we cannot do so, we will let you know.

You also have the right to request the correction of inaccurate personal information you believe we may hold. Please get in touch with us and we will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

If you would like to have your information deleted then please get in touch and we will promptly remove your details, unless there is a contractual or lawful reason for us not to do so. If this is the case, we will let you know within 30 days.

Any confidential information to be deleted and held on paper will be disposed of as confidential waste i.e. via a paper shredder.

You have the right to complain about the holding of your information. If CHF cannot resolve your complaint, or you feel that our response is inadequate, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
